Neato's robot vacuum cleaners are easily recognizable by their typical shape. The shape of a D offers the advantage that the robot hoover can move closer to edges and into corners. In addition, the side brush can be attached to the edge of the robot vacuum cleaner, creating more space for a larger dust container. Neato Robotics was one of the first to use LIDAR technology. Thanks to 360° laser mapping, the robot vacuum cleaner can scan the room and determine where furniture or objects are placed. This allows mapping the area and thus cleaning the floor in systematic paths.

The Neato models are suitable for both small and large rooms, as well as flats with door sills up to 1,9 cm. Stairs and other chasms are detected by the robot vacuums easily. Hard floors or carpets are generally not a problem. The robot vacuum cleaners are particularly suitable for households with pets or for people with allergies, thanks to the suction power, the special combination brush (with slats and bristles) and the powerful, HEPA-like filter.
